Charles takes a job refinishing woodwork for the lovely, young, widow
Thurman in exchange for a set of fine china. He tries to keep it a secret
to surprise Caroline and has to tell a few white lies. Caroline and the
girls hear conflicting stories and suspects the worst -- that Charles
is having an affair with the widow Thurman. Their fears are laid to rest
when Charles surprises Caroline with the china.
