41. THE LONG ROAD HOME

Charles and Mr. Edwards take a job delivering explosives along with two
other men, Murphy and Henry Hill. On their trek, they deal with road obstructions,
bandits, animosity between Murphy (who is white) and Henry (who is black),
and, of course, possibly getting blown up by the nitroglycerin. At the
end, the men share a bond from their experience.
