Burr Oak in the Past

While Burr Oak never made it into the Little House books, it was another important point in the Ingalls life. Here, Charles Frederick Ingalls Jr. was born, and it was also here where the Ingalls helped run the Masters Hotel for one year.

They never had a permanent home here, but rather moved from rented place to rented place. Here, Ma worked in the hotel. After living in Burr Oak, the family left many painful memories behind and returned to Walnut Grove.
